During the FMGM 2018, the lecture “Technological Innovation and Automation of Instrumentation and Monitoring of Tunnels” was held today (07/07), presented by the partner and Executive Director of LPC Latina, Renato Luis da Gama e Silva.

As an introduction to the exhibition, the important aspects for the accomplishment of Geotechnical Monitoring of excellence were raised: safety (in the first place), the support of data that allow behavioral analysis; the development of design and construction methods, and the synergy of work between design, construction and instrumentation.

In what is connected to the technology, the GE.N.I.O. (Management in Cloud Instrumentation and Works), owned by LPC Latina, and Nova MS 60, both on display at the company’s stand during the event. The partnership with Sisgeo, a leading company in the equipment sector for Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring, was also strengthened.

The great news during the presentantion was the new methodology that the Latin LPC is bringing, from England to Brazil, in a pioneering way. SMUTI (Strength Monitoring Using Thermal Imaging), the technique is to control the initial strength and resistance of the projected concrete by means of a thermal camera, monitored from a position as safe as taking a photography with ease. “It’s great for monitoring the progress of the excavations because it ensures that the sheathing has sufficient strength to withstand soil loads and maintain tunnel stability, providing safety and avoiding risks,” says Renato Gama.
